Lesson 13 Making Secondary Adjustments
Clicking in the viewer adds three points to the line in the graph. In this instance, since
red is at the end of the color spectrum, the last point loops around to the left side. The
middle point is the precise hue shade you selected in the viewer. The outer two points
limit the range of red hue that will be adjusted.
10 Drag the middle point in the graph up to increase the red saturation.
11 To see the change in saturation, press Cmd-D (macOS) or Ctrl-D (Windows) to disable
the HLS curve adjustment, then press the keyboard shortcut again to enable it.
To increase the red a bit more, we’ll adjust the luminance of the red hue.
12 From the Curves palette drop down menu choose Hue vs Lum.
The graph displays a similar hue color spectrum.
13 In the viewer, click over the bright red area of the tractor again.
The three points are added to the Hue vs Lum graph.
14 Drag the middle point in the graph up to increase the luminance of the red
saturatedtractor.
15 Again, press Cmd-D (macOS) or Ctrl-D (Windows) to disable the two HLS curve
adjustments, then press the keyboard shortcut again to enable them.
