email
email
Use the email command to create and manage email notification recipients. Use the no form of the command to delete
recipients. When creating an entry, select an easily remembered name as a label for the entry; this name will be used in the
command format email (<name>) when configuring the entry’s status and settings. To exit from the email (<name>)
command format, use either the end or exit commands. To create SMS notification recipients, use the sms command; to
create SNMP notification recipients, use the snmp-server command.
Syntax
email <name>
name - Specifies the email entry to be created or managed. If spaces are required, bookend the name with quotation marks
(“).
no email <name>
name - Specifies the email entry to be deleted.
Examples
The following command creates “maryd” as an email notification recipient:
console> email maryd
Created maryd
console> email (maryd)>
The following command deletes entry “maryd”:
console> no email maryd
Deleted maryd
show email
Use the show email command to display a summary table of all notification recipient entries or the details of a specified email
entry.
Syntax
show email [<name>]
name – Specifies the entry for which email details are to be displayed.
Examples
The following command displays a summary table of all notification recipient entries:
console> show email
