snmp-server: community
community
Use the community command to enter a community string for the SNMP (v1 or v2) server entry. A community string must be
specified prior to enabling the entry. Two options are available for entering the community string. The first option will prompt
the entry of a password followed by a password confirmation, neither of which will be echoed to the terminal. The second
option allows entry of a plain text community string on the command line by using the plaintext keyword.
Syntax
community
community plaintext <community-string>
community-string – Specifies the community string for the entry, in plain text.
Examples
The following command sets “public” as the community string for entry “Server ABC”:
console> snmp-server (Server ABC)> community plaintext public

snmp-server: enable
enable
Use the enable command to activate the SNMP server entry. Use the no form of this command to disable the entry. Note: an
SNMPv1 or v2 entry cannot be enabled until it is configured using the host and community commands. Likewise, an SNMPv3
entry cannot be enabled until it is configured using the host, set, trap and username commands.
Syntax
enable
no enable
Example
The following command disables entry “Server ABC”:
console> snmp-server (Server ABC)> no enable

show enable
Use the show enable command to display the enabled/disabled status for the SNMP server entry.

show enable
