5. CLI Commands
user: fullname
fullname
Use the fullname command to optionally enter a full name for the user entry. Use the no form of this command to clear the
full name.
Syntax
fullname <fullname>
fullname – Specifies the full name of the user entry. If spaces are required, bookend the full name with quotation marks (“).
Examples
The following command sets “John Doe” as the full name for entry “ITadmin1”:
console> usesr (ITadmin1)> fullname “John Doe”
Update complete
show fullname
Use the show fullname command to display the full name entered for the user entry.
Syntax
show fullname
Examples
The following command displays the full name of entry “ITadmin1”:
console> user (ITadmin1)> show fullname
John Doe
user: password
password
Use the password command to change the login password for the user entry. Two options are available for entering the
password. The first option will prompt the entry of a password followed by a password confirmation, neither of which will be
echoed to the terminal. The second option allows entry of a plain text password on the command line by using the plaintext
keyword.
Syntax
password
password plaintext <password>
password – Specifies the new password for the user entry, in plain text.
Examples
The following command changes the password to “j5k6l7” for entry “ITadmin1”:
console> user (ITadmin1)> password plaintext j5k6l7
