5. CLI Commands
restore
restore
Use the restore command to apply configuration settings from either the most recent backup or from factory defaults. When
restoring factory default settings, use the keep-network option to exclude network settings, i.e. prevent the currently saved
network setting from being overwritten. A restore is irreversible. When the command is issued, a prompt will appear to confirm
the action. Use the force option to execute the restore without confirmation.
Syntax
restore [factory-defaults [keep-network]] [force]
Examples
The following command restores the device’s previous configuration (stored using the ‘backup’ command):
console> restore
A restore is irreversible. Are you sure you want to proceed with the restore? Type
“yes” to proceed.
The following command restores the device to factory defaults (including network settings), without a confirmation prompt:
console> restore factory-defaults force
Restore in progress...
role
role
Use the role command to create a customized user role. Use the no form of the command to delete the role. When creating
an entry, select an easily remembered name as a label for the entry; this name will be used in the command format role
(<name>) when configuring the entry’s status and settings. To exit from the role (<name>) command format, use either
the end or exit commands. The default roles are Administrator, Manager, Monitor and Guest. The default roles cannot be
deleted, but the roles of Manager, Monitor and Guest can be edited.
Syntax
role <name>
name – Specifies the role entry to be created or managed. If spaces are required, bookend the name with quotation marks
(“).
no role <name>
name – Specifies the role entry to be deleted.
Examples
The following command creates “Manager 2” as a role:
console> role “Manager 2”
Created Manager 2
console> role (Manager 2)>
The following command deletes role “contractor”:
console> no role contractor
Deleted contractor
