5. CLI Commands
snmp-server: host
host
Use the host command to set the IP address or host name of the SNMP server entry. Both IPv4 and IPv6 addresses are
supported. The host must be specified prior to enabling the entry.
Syntax
host {<ip-address> | <host-name>}
ip-address – Specifies the IPv4 or IPv6 address of the entry.
host-name – Specifies the host name of the entry.
Examples
The following command sets 172.17.60.66 as the IPv4 address for entry “SNMPsrvr1”:
console> snmp-server (SNMPsrvr1)> host 172.17.60.66

show host
Use the show host command to display the host name entered for the SNMP server entry.
Syntax
show host
Examples
The following command displays the host name for entry “SNMPsrvr1”:
console> snmp-server (SNMPsrvr1)> show host
172.17.60.66
snmp-server: name
name
Use the name command to modify the name of the SNMP server entry.
Syntax
name <new-name>
new-name – Specifies the new name for the entry.
Examples
The following command changes the entry’s name from “Server ABC” to “Server XYZ”:
console> snmp-server (Server ABC)> name “Server XYZ”
