5. CLI Commands
device: sensor: location
location
Use the location command to optionally enter information related to the physical location information of the sensor. By
default, this information will match the location entered on the device to which the sensor is connected. Use the no form of
this command to clear the location.
Syntax
location <location>
no location
location – Specifies location information of the sensor. If spaces are required, bookend the information with quotation
marks (“).
Examples
The following command sets “Rack5-middle” as the location information for sensor “Temp1”, associated with device
“PDU123”:
console> device (PDU123)> sensor (Temp1)> location Rack5-middle
Update complete
show location
Use the show location command to display the location entered for the sensor.

show location
Examples
The following command displays the location information entered for sensor “Temp1”, associated with device “PDU123”:
console> device (PDU123)> sensor (Temp1)> show location
Rack5-middle
device: sensor: name
name
Use the name command to modify the name of the sensor. If spaces are required, bookend the name with quotation marks
(“).
Syntax
name <new-name>
new-name – Sets the new name for the sensor.
Examples
The following command changes the sensor’s name from “sensor0076” to “Temp1”, associated with device “PDU123”:
console> device (PDU123)> sensor (sensor0076)> name Temp1
