show authentication protocol
Use the show authentication protocol command to display the selected authentication protocol for the SNMP user entry.
Syntax
show authentication protocol
Examples
The following command displays the authentication protocol for entry “AdminABC”:
console> snmp-user (AdminABC)> show authentication protocol

community
Use the community command to enter a community string for the SNMP user entry. A community string must be specified
if the SNMP version is set to either v1 or v2. Two options are available for entering the community string. The first option
will prompt the entry of a password followed by a password confirmation, neither of which will be echoed to the terminal. The
second option allows entry of a plain text community string on the command line by using the plaintext keyword.
Syntax
community [plaintext <community-string>]
community-string – Specifies the community string for the entry, in plain text.
Examples
The following command sets “public” as the community string for entry “snmpadmin2”:
console> snmp-user (snmpadmin2)> community plaintext public

snmp-user: contact
contact
Use the contact command to optionally enter contact information for the SNMP user entry. Use the no form of this command
to clear the contact.
Syntax
contact <contact>
no contact
contact – Specifies the contact information for the entry. If spaces are required, bookend the contact information with
quotation marks (“).
Examples
The following command sets “mobile: 1-888-888-8888” as the contact information for entry “snmpadmin2”:
console> snmp-user (snmpadmin2)> contact “mobile: 1-888-888-8888”
