5. CLI Commands
smtp email
Use the smtp email command to configure settings related to notification email messages. Use the from sub-command to
specify the email address of the entity sending the email notifications. Use the subject sub-command to modify the subject
line (title) of the email message; the default subject line is “PowerAlert Notification”. Use the language sub-command to
select the language of the email notifications; the default selection is English. Note that this setting is independent of the
language selection for the user interface of PowerAlert Device Manager.
Syntax
smtp email from <address>
address – Specifies the email address of the entity sending the email.
smtp email language {english}
smtp email subject <title>
title – Specifies the text appearing in the Subject Line of the email. If spaces are required, bookend the title with quotation
marks (“).
Examples
The following command specifies “notifier@company.com” as the sender of notification emails:
console> smtp email from noti[email protected]
Update complete
The following command modifies the Subject Line of the email as “System123 Notification”:
console> smtp email subject “System123 Notication”

smtp enable
Use the smtp enable command to activate the entry. Note that an SMTP host and port must be entered before SMTP
authentication can be enabled. Use the no form of this command to disable the entry SMTP. Use the apply network
command to complete SMTP configuration.
Syntax
smtp enable
no smtp enable
Examples
The following command enables the SMTP entry:
console> smtp enable
Update complete
NOTE: Use the “apply network” command to complete the change. This may cause a system
reboot.
