5. CLI Commands

Use the on command to turn on the device. Upon entering the command, a prompt will appear to confirm the action. Use
the force option to execute the startup without confirmation. Note that some devices do not support a startup-delay time; in
those instances, the startup action will execute immediately on command entry. The unit of measure for delay time is typically
seconds, but will vary by device model.
Syntax
on <startup-delay> [force]
startup-delay – Specifies the time the device will wait before executing the start-up.
Examples
The following command turns on device “PDU-Rack1” two seconds after execution, with no confirmation:
console> device (PDU-Rack1)> on 2 force

on-battery shutdown-seconds
Use the on-battery shutdown-seconds command to set the maximum amount of battery runtime in seconds the UPS will
provide during a power failure.
Syntax
on-battery shutdown-seconds <integer-value>
integer-value - Sets the battery runtime the UPS will provide during a power failure.
Examples
The following command sets the timed shutdown at 60 seconds for device “UPS123”:
console> device (UPS123)> on-battery shutdown-seconds 60

Use the on-battery shutdown-status enable command to activate timed shutdown in the event of a power failure. Use the
no form of this command to disable the timed shutdown.
Syntax
on-battery shutdown-state enable
no on-battery shutdown-state enable
Examples
The following command activates the timed shutdown for device “UPS123”:
console> device (UPS123)> on-battery shutdown-status enable
