5. CLI Commands
smtp type
Use the smtp type command to select a security type option. The available choices are: none, Secure Socket Layer/
Transport Layer Security Layer (ssltls), and STARTTLS/Opportunistic TLS (starttls). This parameter must be set before SMTP
authentication can be enabled.
Syntax
smtp type {none | ssltls | starttls}
Examples
The following command sets “starttls” as the SMTP security type:
console> smtp type starttls
Update complete
NOTE: Use the “apply network” command to complete the change. This may cause a system
reboot.
smtp user
Use the smtp user command to specify the SMTP username. This parameter must be set before SMTP authentication can be
enabled.
Syntax
smtp user <user-name>
user-name – Specifies the username required for authentication.
Examples
The following command sets “Admin123” as the SMTP username:
console> smtp user Admin123
Update complete
NOTE: Use the “apply network” command to complete the change. This may cause a system
reboot.
show smtp
Use the show smtp command to display the current settings for the SMTP service. Note that authentication passwords will
not be displayed.
Syntax
show smtp [status | authentication | email | host | port | status | type | user ]
Examples
The following command displays all SMTP settings:
console> show smtp
Host Name : mail.company.com
Port : 25
Authentication Status : enabled
Authentication Type : ssltls
User Name : Admin123
Email From : noti[email protected]
Email Language : english
Email Subject : System123 Notication
