5. CLI Commands
default temperature-format
Use the default temperature-format command to set the global temperature format. Users can individually override this
setting by using the default user temperature-format command.
Syntax
default temperature-format {celsius | fahrenheit}
Examples
The following command sets the current user’s temperature format preference to Fahrenheit:
console> default temperature-format fahrenheit

default time-format
Use the default time-format command to set the global time format. Please note the format selections are case-sensitive
and must be entered using the same capitalization as documented. Users can individually override this setting by using the
default user time-format command.
Syntax
default time-format {h:mm:ss tt | hh:mm:ss tt | H:mm:ss | HH:mm:ss}
• If using either the h:mm:ss tt or hh:mm:ss tt time format, use quotes when entering the time (see Examples)
Examples
The following command sets the current user’s time format preference to “hh:mm:ss tt”:
console> default time-format “hh:mm:ss tt”

default timeout
Use the default timeout command to apply global timeout settings. Idle timeout sets the amount of time (in minutes) that
a user’s session can remain idle before the system terminates the session. Session timeout specifies the amount of time (in
minutes) a user’s session can remain active before the system requests the user to re-authenticate. Users can individually
override these settings by using the default user timeout command.
Syntax
default timeout {idle | session} <timeout>
timeout – Sets the timeout, in minutes (Range: 1-999)
Examples
The following command sets 30 minutes as the system-wide idle timeout:
console> default timeout idle 30
