5. CLI Commands
firmware
Upon logging into CLI, the system automatically checks for the availability of a new (LX card) firmware version. If an update is
available, a message will appear identifying the new firmware version.
Example
Welcome to PowerAlert Device Manager CLI v20.0.0.5678
A new rmware version is available: v20.0.0.9999
Use the ‘rmware update’ command to download the latest version

firmware check
Use the firmware check command to verify availability of a new firmware version. A message will appear with the results of
the check and a prompt for downloading a new version, if available. Use the force option to automatically download the new
firmware file, if available.
Syntax
firmware check [force]
Examples
The following command checks for availability latest firmware version available:
console> rmware check
Current rmware version : v20.0.0.2345
Staged rmware version : v20.0.0.2346
Firmware is currently staged for upgrade. Enter ‘rmware update’ to upgrade
If a new firmware version is not available, a message stating so will appear when the command is entered:
console> rmware check force
The LX Card is running the latest rmware update, v20.0.0.1871
firmware update
Use the firmware update command to execute update of the staged firmware file. A firmware file becomes staged either by
scp/sftp upload or when uploaded using the firmware check command. Note that downgrades to previous firmware versions
are possible using the scp/sftp method. When the command is issued, a prompt will appear to confirm the action. Use the
force option to execute the update without confirmation. All active user sessions are terminated during the update process,
including the session that initiated the process. Updating the firmware version cannot be canceled once started.
Syntax
firmware update [force]
Examples
The following command updates the device to the latest firmware version available:
console> rmware update
This will immediately terminate any active user session(s) while the system installs
the updated rmware to v20.0.0.2346 and reboots.
