snmp-server: trap
trap enable
Use the trap enable command to enable SNMP Traps or Informs for the SNMP server entry. Use the no form of the command
to disable SNMP Traps or Informs.
Syntax
trap enable
no trap enable
Examples
The following command enables SNMP Traps for entry “SRVrcvr1”:
console> snmp-server (SRVrcvr1)> trap enable
Update complete
The following command disables SNMP Traps for entry “Server ABC”:
console> snmp-server (Server ABC)> no trap enable
Update complete
trap port
Use the trap port command to identify the port number for the SNMP server entry to use when sending an SNMP Trap. The
default port number for SNMP Trap is 162.
Syntax
trap port <port-number>
• port-number – Specifies the entry’s port number to use when sending an SNMP Trap (Range: 1-65535).
Examples
The following command assigns 162 as the Trap port for entry “SRVrcvr1”:
console> snmp-server (SRVrcvr1)> trap port 162

trap test
Use the trap test command to execute a test of SNMP Trap/Inform communications with the SNMP server entry.
Syntax
trap test
Examples
The following command executes a test of SNMP Trap/Inform communications with entry “SRVrcvr1”:
console> snmp-server (SRVrcvr1)> trap test
