Available in the following modes:
You can select the Autofocus metering method that suits the
positions and number of the subjects in the picture.
Press [ ] (2).
Setting the Autofocus mode
([Face/Eye
Detection])
The camera automatically detects the faces and
eyes of subjects. It sets the focus on the eye that is
closer to the camera and the exposure based on the
face (when [Metering Mode] is set to [ ]). (>76)
([Tracking])
The camera keeps focusing and adjusting the
exposure automatically to the specified moving
object. (Dynamic Tracking)

([49-Area])
Subjects in up to 49 AF areas can be focused.
This is effective when a subject is not in the center
of the screen.

([Custom Multi])
You can freely combine any number of the 49 AF
areas for an optimum shape of the total AF area for

([1-Area])
The camera focuses on the subject in the single AF
area.
([Pinpoint])
You can achieve a more precise focus setting on a
subject detail that is smaller than [Ø].
If you press the shutter button halfway, the monitor
image will be enlarged to make it easier for you to
check the focus setting.
In Snapshot and Snapshot Plus modes, you can select either [ ] or [ ].
