13-28 SUSPENSION
Tie-Rod, Rocker Arm
Tie-Rod Removal
•
Remove:
Mud Guard (see Mud Guard Removal in the Frame
chapter)
•
Squeeze the brake lever slowly and hold it with a band
[A].
•
Raise the rear wheel off the ground with the jack (see
Rear Shock Absorber Removal).
Special Tools - Jack: 57001-1238
Jack Attachment: 57001-1608
•
Remove:
Upper Tie-Rod Bolt and Nut [A]
Lower Tie-Rod Bolt and Nut [B]
Tie-Rod [C]
Tie-Rod Installation
•
Apply grease to the inside of the grease seals.
•
Install the tie-rod.
•
Replace the tie-rod nuts with new ones.
•
Tighten:
Torque - Tie-Rod Nuts: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 ft·lb)
Rocker Arm Removal
•
Remove:
Mud Guard (see Mud Guard Removal in the Frame
chapter)
•
Squeeze the brake lever slowly and hold it with a band.
•
Raise the rear wheel off the ground with the jack (see
Rear Shock Absorber Removal).

Jack Attachment: 57001-1608

Remove:
Lower Rear Shock Absorber Bolt and Nut [A]
Upper Tie-Rod Bolt and Nut [B]
Rocker Arm Bolt and Nut [C]
Rocker Arms [D]
Rocker Arm Installation
•
Apply grease to the inside of the oil seals.
•
Replace the rocker arm nut and rear shock absorber nut
respective new one.
•
Tighten:
Torque - Rocker Arm Nut: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 ft·lb)
Tie-Rod Nuts: 34 N·m (3.5 kgf·m, 25 ft·lb)
Rear Shock Absorber Nut (Lower): 34 N·m (3.5
kgf·m, 25 ft·lb)
•
Install the removed parts (see appropriate chapters).
