EGR Cut VSV Test
The EGR Cut VSV function lets you activate and deactivate the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Vacuum
Switching Valve (VSV).
1. Select EGR Cut VSV in the Active Test Menu, then press OK.
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as directed:
Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
Place the transmission in PARK.
2. Select Continue to proceed.
n The Control EGR Cut VSV screen displays.
3. Select On to activate the EGR Cut VSV. Select Off to deactivate the EGR Cut VSV.
n The display refreshes to show the results. Repeat as desired.
4. Press
Back to return to the Active Test Menu.
EGR Step Position / System Test
The EGR Step Position / System function lets you increase Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) target position
through its full range (1% - 100%).
1. Select EGR Step Position / System in the Active Test Menu, then press OK.
n An “instructional” screen displays. Prepare the vehicle for test as directed:
Turn the ignition on. DO NOT start the engine.
Place the transmission in PARK.
2. Select Continue to proceed.
n The Control EGR Step Position / System screen displays.
3. Select Decrease to decrease the EGR target position. Select Increase to increase the EGR target position.
n The display refreshes to show the results. Repeat as desired.
