When a pedestrian is detected
behind the vehicle while backing
up, the brake pedal is not
depressed or is depressed late.
Displays a message to urge the
driver to take evasive action
when a pedestrian is detected in
the detection area behind the
vehicle. (A message will also be
displayed on the multi-informa-
tion display.)

up and the system deter-
mines that the possibility of

pedestrian is high, a buzzer
will sound. If the system
determines that the possi-
bility of colliding with the
detected pedestrian is
extremely high, the brakes
will be applied automati-
cally to help reduce the
impact of the collision.
