ALIGNING THE ARM FOR CROSS CUTS

This procedurecheckswhetherthe arm isexactlyO"
for crosscuttravel by checkingtheblade againstthe
table and the miter indicator.Remove the rear table,
spacertable, and fence, but leavethe fronttable in
place. You willneed a framingsquare, a 3/16 in. hex
key, and a pencil.

before performingthese adjustments.Accidental
start-upcould resultin seriouspersonalinjury.
• Firstcheckthe framingsquare byfittingone side
againstthe backedge ofthe table. Lightlydrew a
lineon the table alongthe edge of the squarein
the middle ofthetable. Flipthe squareover. If the
edge stillmatchesthe linewith no gaps or over-
laps,the square istrue.

Release the arm lock knob.Positionthearm
straightforward (O') and leaveit unlocked.
Lowerthe arm withthe elevatinghandwheeluntil
the saw bladejust clearsthe front table. Lockthe
yokelockhandle (rightside of saw, belowyoke)
and the bevel locklever.
• Place theframingsquareon thetable and position
one edge of thesquarefirmlyagainstthe back
edge of the table. Positionthe otherleg ofthe
squareagainstthe bladeuntilitrestsbesidebutnot
touchinga tooth.Witha pencil,markbesidethis
tooth.
• Slowlymovethe yokeassemblyforwardand
backwardalongthe arm and againstthe square
withoutrotatingthe blade. Ifthe markmovesintoor
away fromthe square,adjustthe arm withthe
followingsteps.
• Atthe backofthe column,loosenthe three set-
screwswith a 3/16 in.hex keyand positionthe arm
as neededto alignwiththe framingsquare.
• Lockthe arm lockknoband retightenthethree
setscrews. Recheckthecrossouttravelwith the
bladeagainstthe framingsquare.
• Set the miterindicatoron topof thecolumnto 0".
• Replace thefence, spacertable, rear table, and
table clamps.
