INSTALLING RIP SCALEINDICATORS
See Figure28.
The ripscale indicatorson the arm showthe distance
between the blade and the ripfence with thefence in
the frontand rear positions.The upperscale isused
when thefence is positioneddirectlybehindthe front
table. The lowerscale isused when the fenceis at the
extreme rear,directly infrontofthe column.
The In-Rip Indicatorison the dghtside ofthe arm.
The Out-Rip Indicatorison the leftsideof the arm.
Remove the followingfroma smallhardware bag.
2 ripscale indicators
4 screws
2 speed nuts
On the left ofthe radialarm saw, removethe
carriage lockknoband spdng.
Remove the two carriage cover screwsandthe
carriagecover.
Inserta speed nut insidethecarriage cover withthe
fiat sideup. Place thescale indicatoron topofthe
cardage coverand attachwith two screws. Se-
curelytightenscrews.
Replacethe cardage cover and tightenthe carriage
coverscrews.
Replace carriage lockknoband spring.
Repeat for the right side.

workpieceat the operator.Feed controlof the blade

connected.
