When driving with a trailer, Drive Away Assist is
not available.

Vehicles with Blind Spot Assist: the Cross
Traffic Alert function can warn drivers of any
crossing traffic when backing up out of a parking
space. The radar sensors in the bumper also
monitor the area adjacent to the vehicle. If a crit‐
ical situation is detected, symbol 1 appears in
the media display. If the driver does not respond
to the warning, the vehicle's brakes can be
applied automatically.
If the radar sensors are obstructed by vehicles
or other objects, detection is not possible.
The Cross Traffic Alert function is active under
the following conditions:
R
If Blind Spot Assist is activated.
R
If the vehicle is backing up at walking pace.
R
If the maneuvering assistance function is
activated in the multimedia system.

ATTENTION ASSIST
Function of ATTENTION ASSIST
ATTENTION ASSIST assists you on long, monoto‐
nous journeys, e.g. on highways and trunk roads.
If ATTENTION ASSIST detects indicators of fati‐
gue or increasing lapses in concentration on the
part of the driver, it suggests taking a break.
ATTENTION ASSIST is only an aid. It cannot
always detect fatigue or lapses in concentration
in time. The system is not a substitute for a well-
rested and attentive driver. On long journeys,
take regular breaks in good time that allow for
adequate recuperation.
You can choose between two settings:
R
Standard: normal system sensitivity.
R
Sensitive: higher system sensitivity. The
driver is warned earlier and the attention
