Docum e n t Type: Choice : Nor m al, Photo, D ocum e n t

Three options of docum ent t ype are provided when you choose

Gray as the im age type for your scanned document. Choice:

N orm a l, Photo, D ocum e n t .

 Docum e n t : Choose Docum ent if your original cont ains

pure t ext or a m ixt ure of text and graphic since it is an

optim al sett ing for regular business document. When

using Docum ent, only Threshold can be adjust ed.

 Phot o: Choose Phot o if your original contains phot o to

reproduce your phot o in vivid grayscale im age. When

using Phot o, no Threshold and Cont rast can be adjust ed.

 N orm a l: When using N orm a l, Threshold, Brightness, and

Cont rast can be adjust ed.

Thresh old: The value ranges from 0 t o 255. The default is

230. A low t hreshold value produces a lighter im age, and can

be used t o subdue backgrounds and subtle, unneeded

inform at ion. A high threshold value produces a darker im age,

and can be used t o help pick up faint im ages. Adj ust the

threshold set ting by dragging the Thr eshold sliding bar t o the

left or right t o achieve the desired threshold set ting.
