Checkinglevels
Takecarewhenworkingunderthebonnet,ascertainareasoftheenginemaybeextremelyhot(riskofburns)andthecoolingfancouldstartat
anytime(evenwiththeignitionoff).
Engine oil level
Thecheckiscarriedouteitherwhen
theignitionisswitchedonusingthe
oil level indicator in the instrument
panel for vehicles so equipped, or
usingthedipstick.
Checking using the dipstick
Thelocationofthedipstickisshowninthe
correspondingunderbonnetlayoutview.
F Takethedipstickbyitscolouredgripand
removeitcompletely.
F Wipetheendofthedipstickusingaclean
non-fluffycloth.
F Refitthedipstickandpushfullydown,then
pullitoutagaintomakethevisualcheck:
thecorrectlevelisbetweenthemarksA
and B.
It is normal to top-up the oil level between
twoservices(oroilchanges).CITROËN
recommendsthatyoucheckthelevel,andtop-
upifnecessary,every3000miles(5000kms).
Checkalloftheselevelsregularly,inlinewiththemanufacturer'sserviceschedule.Topthemupifnecessary,unlessotherwiseindicated.
Ifaleveldropssignificantly,havethecorrespondingsystemcheckedbyaCITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
Toensurethatthereadingiscorrect,
yourvehiclemustbeparkedonalevel
surfacewiththeenginehavingbeenoff
formorethan30minutes.
A = MAX
B = MIN
If you find that the level is above the Amarkor
below the Bmark,do not start the engine.
- If the level is above the MAXmark(risk
ofdamagetotheengine),contacta
CITROËNdealeroraqualifiedworkshop.
- If the level is below the MINmark,you
musttop-uptheengineoil.
