Assistedlanedeparturewarningsystem
Usingacameraplacedatthetopofthewindscreentoidentifylanemarkingsontheground,thissystemscorrectsthetrajectoryofthevehiclewhile
alertingthedriverifitdetectsariskofinvoluntarycrossingofaline.
Thissystemisparticularlyusefulonmotorwaysandmainroads.
Theassistedlanedeparturewarning
system cannot, in any circumstances,
replacetheneedforvigilanceonthepart
ofthedriver.
The driver remains responsible for the
vehicleinallcircumstances.Thesystem
helpsthedriveronlywhenthereisarisk
ofthevehicleinvoluntarilywandering
fromthelaneitisbeingdrivenon.
Itdoesnotmanagethesafedriving
distance, the speed of the vehicle or the
brakes.
Thedrivermustholdthesteeringwheel
inawaythatallowscontroltobetaken
backincircumstanceswherethesystem
is not able to intervene (where there are
nolanemarkings,forexample).
Itisnecessarytoobservethedriving
regulationsandtakeabreakevery
twohours.
OperationConditions for operation
The speed of the vehicle must be between 40
and112mph(65and180km/h).
Thecarriagewaymusthaveatleastonelane
marking(solidorbroken)ontheground.
The driver must hold the wheel with both
hands.
Thechangeoftrajectoryisnotaccompaniedby
operationofthedirectionindicators.
TheESCsystemmustbeactivated.
Oncethesystemidentifiesariskofthevehicle
involuntarilycrossingoneofthelanemarkings
detected,itmakesthecorrectiontothe
trajectorynecessarytoreturnthevehicletoits
initialpath.
Thedriverwillthennoticeaturningmovement
ofthesteeringwheel.
Thiswarninglampflashesduring
trajectorycorrection.
If the driver wishes to maintain the
trajectoryofthevehicle,theycan
preventthecorrectionbykeepingafirm
griponthewheel(duringanavoiding
manoeuvre,forexample).
The correction is interrupted if the
directionindicatorsareoperated.
