Starting-switchingofftheenginewithKeylessEntryandStarting
F PlacethegearselectorleveratP or N for
vehicleswithanautomaticgearbox,or
neutralwithamanualgearbox.
F Withtheelectronickeyinsidethevehicle,
pressthebrakepedalforvehicleswithan
automaticgearbox,orfullydeclutchfor
vehicleswithamanualgearbox.
Diesel vehicles
In temperatures below zero the
enginewillnotstartuntilthe
preheaterwarninglamphas
goneoff.
Starting the engine
The presence of the "Keyless Entry and
Starting"electronickeyintherecognitionzone
isessential.
Itisnotnecessarytoplacetheelectronickeyin
theback-upreader.
Iftheelectronickeyisnotdetected,
amessageisdisplayed.Movethe
electronickeyintotherecognitionzone
sothattheenginecanbestarted.
In the event of a problem, see "Key not
detected/Back-upstarting".
F Briefly press the "START/
STOP"buttonwhilemaintaining
pressure on the pedal until the
enginestarts.
Ifoneofthestartingconditionsisnot
met,aremindermessageappearsinthe
instrumentpanelscreen.
In some circumstances, it is necessary
toturnthesteeringwheelslightlywhile
pressingthe"START/STOP" button
toassistunlockingofthesteering;a
messagewarnsyouwhenthisisneeded.
As a safety measure, never leave the
vehiclewhiletheengineisrunning.
Thesteeringcolumnunlocksandtheengine
startsmoreorlessinstantly.
SeetheadvicebelowforDieselversions.
Ifthiswarninglampcomesonafter
pressing"START/STOP", you should
holdthebrakeorclutchpedaldown
untilthewarninglampgoesoffanddo
not press the "START/STOP" button
againbeforetheenginestarts.
