FAQs - Setup
1. Can I estimate values (RPM, hp, gear ratios,
etc) when setting up the machine or must I
provide exact information?
In order to provide a proper diagnosis, the user
should provide data that is as accurate as
possible.
2. How many characters can I use to create a
machine name?
The maximum machine name length is 15
characters.
3. Why is RPM critical to receiving a proper
diagnosis?
Entering an accurate running speed (RPM) is
critical to receiving a proper diagnosis. An
accurate running speed helps the Tester
accurately discern different fault conditions.
To obtain an accurate RPM value on a variable
speed drive use the laser tachometer and
reflective tape provided with the Tester or obtain
the frequency value from the drive controller
itself. To convert the frequency value to RPM,
calculate the following:
Hz * 60 = RPM
