File format for High Frame Rate shooting (The values shown are available recording times when
shooting, not durations when playing back.)
Continuous shooting is possible for approximately 29 minutes (a product
specification limit). However, the duration of time available for continuous movie
recording varies under the following conditions.
High Frame Rate shooting: Approximately 7 minutes at [30p 16M]/[25p 16M];
approximately 5 minutes 30 seconds at [24p 12M]
When the file format is set to MP4 (28M): Approximately 20 minutes (limited by file size
of 4 GB)
Note
The recordable time of movies varies because the product is equipped with
VBR (Variable Bit-Rate), which automatically adjusts image quality depending
on the shooting scene.
When you record a fast-moving subject, the image is clearer but the recordable
time is shorter because more memory is required for recording.
The recordable time also varies depending on the shooting conditions, the
subject or the image quality/size settings.
The playback time of slow-motion movies is 4 times longer than the recording
time for XAVC S HD 30p/25p 16M movies and 5 times longer for XAVC S HD
24p 12M movies.
Notes on continuous movie recording
It requires a lot of power to perform high quality movie recording or continuous
shooting. Therefore, if you continue to shoot, the temperature inside the camera
will rise, especially that of the image sensor. In such cases, the camera will turn
off automatically because the surface of the camera is heated to a high
temperature that can affect the quality of the images or the internal mechanism
