Engine Servicing
(1) FUEL RETURN HOSE (1) 2P (BLACK) CONNECTOR (1) 2P (BLACK) CONNECTOR
(2) SOCKET BOLTS
Fuel Pump Flow Inspection
Remove the rear fender.
Disconnect the fuel return hose from the pressure
regulator and plug the hose end.
Connect another fuel hose to the pressure regulator and
install the hose end in the approved gasoline container.
Connect a 12 V battery to the fuel pump 2P (Black)
connector terminals and check the amount of fuel flow
for 10 seconds.
Amount of flow:
17 cm3 (0.6 US oz, 0.6 Imp oz) minimum/
10 seconds at 12 V
If the fuel flow is less than specified, inspect the following:
– Pinched or clogged fuel hose and fuel return hose
– Clogged fuel filter
– Pressure regulator
– Fuel pump (page 4–6)
After inspection, remove the temporarily installed fuel
hose and connect the fuel return hose to the pressure
regulator.
Connect the fuel pump 2P (Black) connector.
Start the engine and check for fuel leaks.

Removal
Remove the rear fender.
Disconnect the injector 2P (Black) connector.
Remove the injector holder socket bolts.
