Add Auxiliary Devices — Manually
To add auxiliary devices manually follow these steps:
1. From the Conguration menu, select Add/Edit Aux Devices.
2. Click Add to open the Add Aux Device dialog.
3. Under Settings, enter the required information.
Address — Enter the device’s IP address or host name.
Port — Enter the port number, if different than the default port 80.
4. Under Credentials, enter a user name and password for an administrator account on the device.
5. Click OK to add the device.
Add third-party devices
The following applies for third-party devices that are added to AXIS Camera Station:
• Third-party devices are added to AXIS Camera Station in the same way as Axis products. See Add Cameras and Video
Encoders on page 38 All third-party devices must pass the AXIS Camera Station Device Compatibility Test tool before
they can be added.
• Only a number of functions are available for third-party devices. See Support for third-party devices.
Support for third-party devices
AXIS Camera Station 5 supports ONVIF Prole S conformant devices according to denitions in the IEC62676-2-3 standard. The
following functionality is supported for third-party devices:
• Camera discovery
• Video encoding: MJPEG, H264
• Audio encodings: G.711 (one-way, from the device to AXIS Camera Station)
• One video prole per camera
• Live view
• Continuous and Manual recordings
• Recordings exports

The tool checks if AXIS Camera Station can communicate and decode video streams from your network video products.
Create Views
AXIS Camera Station supports different view types: split view, sequence, camera view, map, web page and folder, see Views on page
15. The views can be organized into view groups, see Cameras and Views on page 14.
