After the engine is restarted, obstacles must be
detected again before a new warning can be
issued.
System limitations
The system limitations for Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC apply for passive side impact pro
tection.
The following objects are not detected, for exam
ple:

Pedestrians who approach the vehicle from
the side
R
Objects placed next to the vehicle
Deactivating/activating Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC

NOTE Risk of an accident from objects
at close range
Parking Assist PARKTRONIC may not detect
cer tain objects at close range.

When parking or maneuvering the vehi
cle, pay particular attention to any
objects which are above or below the
sensors, e.g. flower pots or drawbars.
The vehicle or other objects could oth
erwise be damaged.
If indicator lamp 1 is not lit, Parking Assist
PARKTRONIC is active. If the indicator lamp is lit
or the é symbol appears in the multifunction
display, Parking Assist PARKTRONIC is not
active.
