FAR Remote ID Compliance Information
The unmanned aircraft system is equipped with a Remote ID system that meets the
requirements of 14 CFR Part 89.
The aircraft automatically broadcasts Remote ID messages from takeoff to shut down. An
external device such as a cell phone or tablet is required to be connected as a location source
to DJI mobile devices without an integrated GNSS system
[1]
, and must run the DJI ight control
app such as DJI Fly in the foreground and always allow the DJI ight control app to obtain its
accurate location information. The connected external device must minimally be one of the
following:
1) FCC Certied personal wireless device that uses GPS with SBAS (WAAS) for location services;
or
2) FCC Certied personal wireless device with integrated GNSS.
Also, the external device must be operated in a way that does not interfere with the location
reported and its correlation to the operator location.
The aircraft automatically initiates a pre-flight self-test (PFST) of the Remote ID system
before takeo and cannot take o if it does not pass the PFST
[2]
. The results of the PFST of
the Remote ID system can be viewed in either a DJI ight control app such as DJI Fly or DJI
goggles.
The aircraft monitors the Remote ID system functionality from pre-ight to shut down. If the
Remote ID system malfunctions or has a failure, an alarm will be displayed in either a DJI
ight control app such as DJI Fly or DJI goggles.
You can visit the ocial website of FAA to learn more about aircraft registration and Remote
ID requirements.
Footnotes
[1] DJI mobile devices without an integrated GNSS system such as DJI RC Motion 3, DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.
[2] The pass criterion for PFST is that the hardware and software of the Remote ID required-data source and
transmitter radio in the Remote ID system are functioning properly.
