• When adding or replacing coolant, be
sure to use only INFINITI Genuine En-
gine Coolant, BASF Glysantin G40 or
equivalent in its quality. The use of other
types of engine coolant may damage the
engine cooling system.
CHECKING ENGINE COOLANT
LEVEL
NOTE
The coolant level must only be checked and
corrected when the engine is cold.
1. Park the vehicle on a level surface.
Only check the coolant level if the vehicle
is on a level surface and the engine is cold.
2. Slowly turn cap

half a turn counter-
clockwise to allow excess pressure to es-
cape.

further counter-clockwise
and remove it.
If the coolant is at the level of marker bar

in the filler neck when cold, there is
enough coolant in coolant expansion tank

4. If necessary, top up with INFINITI Genu-
ine Engine Coolant, BASF Glysantin G40
or equivalent in its quality.
5. Replace cap

and turn it clockwise as
far as it will go.
If the cooling system frequently requires
coolant, have it checked. It is recommended
that you visit an INFINITI retailer for this
service.
CHANGING ENGINE COOLANT
An INFINITI retailer can change the engine
coolant.
Improper servicing can result in reduced
heater performance and engine overheating.
WARNING
• To avoid being scalded, never change
the coolant when the engine is hot.
• Never remove the radiator cap when the
engine is hot. Serious burns could be
caused by high pressure fluid escaping
from the radiator.
• Avoid direct skin contact with used
coolant. If skin contact is made, wash
thoroughly with soap or hand cleaner as
soon as possible.
• Keep coolant out of reach of children
and pets.
Engine coolant must be disposed of properly.
Check your local regulations.
