S Pen Settings
Configure options and settings
for the S Pen.
Air Command
The Air command menu provides quick access to S
Pen applications from any screen. Use the settings
page to add shortcuts to your favorite apps or
functions on the Air command menu. Also, choose
to minimize the Air command menu to a floating
icon.
To enable or disable the Air command menu:
1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings
> Controls.
2. Tap S Pen > Air command.
3. Tap Shortcuts to configure the Air command
menu screen.
4. Tap On/Off to enable or disable the
Floatingicon feature.
Air View
Preview information, extend text, or enlarge pictures
by hovering your pen over the screen.
1. From a Home screen, tap Apps > Settings
> Controls.
2. Tap S Pen > Air view.
3. Tap On/Off to turn the feature on.
4. Configure options for Air view.
S Pen Settings
To configure settings for the SPen:
1. From a Home screen, tap
Apps > Settings
> Controls.
2. Tap S Pen.
3. Configure any of the following settings:
•
Direct pen input: Turn the Direct pen input
feature on or off. This feature allows you to
switch from the keyboard to the SPen when
filling in form fields.
•
Pointer: Turn the pointer on or off. The pointer
appears on the screen when the tip of the
SPen is hovering close enough. Holding the
pointer over some features can reveal what an
item is or what it does.
•
Detachment options: Select an action for the
device to take when the S Pen is detached
from the device.
•
Screen off memo: Create action memos by
detaching the S Pen while the screen is off
and writing on the screen.
•
S Pen alerts: Set your phone to sound an
alert and show a popup when walk away
without attaching the S Pen.
•
S Pen power saver: Turn off pen detection
when the S Pen is attached. This can help
extend battery life.
•
S Pen sound: Play a sound when writing with
the S Pen, and select a sound for the device
to make when the S Pen is detached from the
device.
•
S Pen vibration: Activate vibration feedback
when the S Pen is attached and detached.
