7. TROUBLESHOOTING
PROBLEM LIKELY CAUSE SOLUTION
1. With the key on «ON», the light
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
– badly connected battery
– battery terminals crossed
– badly earthed
– blown fuse
– wet circuit board
Turn the ignition key to the «STOP»
position and look for the cause of
the problem:
– check connections (see 3.2)
– check connections (see 3.2)
– check connections (see 3.2)
– recharge the battery (see 6.3.3)
– dry using luke warm air
2. With the ignition key turned to
the starter motor does not run
– starting conditions have not
been met
– check that all starting conditions
are met (see 5.2.a)
3. With the key on «START» the
light comes on but the starter
motor does not run
– battery charger fuse blown
– malfunction on the starter relay
– recharge the battery (see 6.3.3)
– replace the fuse (25 A)
– contact your Dealer
«START» the starter motor runs
but the engine does not start
– faulty fuel supply
– faulty ignition
– recharge the battery (see 6.3.3)
– check the level in the tank
(see 5.3.3)
– check that spark plug cap is
– check that the electrodes are
clean and have the correct gap
between them
runs erratically
– faulty carburetion
fresh fuel
necessary
6. Weak engine performance
during cutting
– forward speed too high in relation
to cutting height
– reduce the forward speed and/or
raise the cutting height
7. The engine stops while working
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
– the safety devices have cut in
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
and look for the cause of the
problem:
– check that all starting conditions
are met (see 5.2.b)
8. The engine stops and the light
The safety device of the electronic
circuit board has cut in due to:
– overvoltage caused by the
charge regulator
– badly connected battery
(poor contact)
Turn the ignition key to «STOP»
and look for the cause of the
problem:
– recharge the battery (see 6.3.3)
– contact a Licensed Service
Centre
– check battery connections
(see 3.2)
9. The engine stops but the light
stays on
– problems in the engine – contact a Licensed Service
Centre
10. The cutting means do not
engage or do not stop promptly
when they are disengaged
– problems with the engagement
mechanism
– contact your Dealer
