Dynamicversus Static IPAddresses
If the networkrequiresa dynamic IPaddress, usean ADSL modemor routerthat supports
the DynamicHostConfigurationProtocol(DHCP).Modemsand toutersthat supportDHCP
automaticallyprovidethe IP address, subnetmask, gatewayand DNSvaluesthe TV needsto
accessthe Internet,so they do not haveto be enteredmanually. Most homenetworksuse a
dynamicIPaddress.
If the networkrequiresa static IP address, enterthe IPaddress, subnetmask, gateway, and DNS
valuesmanuallywhen setting up the networkconnection. To get the IPaddress, subnetmask,
gatewayand DNSvalues,contactyour InternetServiceProvider(ISP).
If the networkrequiresa static IP address, usean ADSL modemthat supportsDHCP.ADSL
modemsthat support DHCPalso allow static IPaddresses.

ComponentConnection
Componentconnectionsare mostly usedfor gameconsolesandtransmit the videosignal by
splitting it into a luminancesignal (Y)and two color signals (Pb and Pr).The connectoris marked
as [ComponentIN]_(Pr,Pb,Y) on the back of the TV.On somedevices,it is sometimesmarked
as Cr,Cb,Y. Cb and Cr arethe digital conversionsof the Pb and Prsignals.
Theconnectorsare normally color-coded red (R),blue (B),and green(G) andoffer the best
picturequality possiblefor an analogconnection.
