Safety information
Warning
The system cannot serve as a substitute
for the driver’s personal judgment in as-
sessing the traffic conditions. There is a
risk of accident. Adjust driving style to
traffic conditions. Watch traffic and vehi-
cle surroundings closely and actively in-
tervene where appropriate.
Warning
Due to high speeds when PDC Park Dis-
tance Control is activated, the warning can
be delayed due to physical circumstances.
There is a risk of injury or risk of damage
to property. Avoid approaching an object
too fast. Avoid driving off fast while PDC
Park Distance Control is not yet active.

PDC, for instance in the bump-
ers.
Functional requirements
Ensure full functionality:
Do not cover sensors, for instance with
stickers, bicycle racks.
Keep the sensors clean and unob-
structed.
Switching on/off
Switching on automatically
The system switches on automatically in the
following situations:
If selector lever position R is engaged
when the engine is running.
The rearview camera also switches on.
With front PDC: when obstacles are de-
tected behind or in front of the vehicle
by PDC and the speed is slower than ap-
prox. 2.5 mph/4 km/h.
With front PDC: automatic activation on ob-
stacle detection can be switched off. Via the
Central Information Display (CID):
1. "My MINI"
2. "Vehicle settings"
3. "Parking"
4. "Automatic PDC activation": depending
on the vehicle equipment.
5. "Automatic PDC activation"
The setting is stored for the driver pro-
file currently used.
Automatic deactivation during
forward travel
The system switches off when a certain
driving distance or speed is exceeded.
Switch the system back on, if needed.
