Performance C onsiderations
When settings up your system, it is important to consider how various settings and situations will affect performance. Some factors
affect the amount of bandwidth (the bit rate) required, others can a ffe ct the frame rate, and so me affect both. If the load on the
CPU re aches its maximum, this will a lso affect the
frame rate.
The following factors are among the most imp
ortant to consider:
• High image resolution and/or lower co
mpression levels result in images containing more data. Bandwidth affected.
• Access by large numbers of
Motion JPEG and/or unicast H.264 clients. Bandwidth affected.
• Simultaneous viewin
g of different s trea m s (resolution, c om pre ssion) by different clients. Effect on fram e rate and bandwidth.
• Accessing Motio
n JPEG a nd H.264 video streams simultaneously. Frame rate and ba n dw idth a ffe cted.
•Heavyusage
of event settings affect the product’s CPU load. Frame rate affected.
