Changing the settings
Setting the limiter setting of microphone
audio added to booth output
! By default, the limiter is set to [OFF (Disabled)].
1 Press the [WAKE UP (UTILITY)] button for over 1
second.
The utilities screen appears on a display of this unit.
2 Use the rotary selector to select and enter [MIC
LIMITER FOR BOOTH].
3 Use the rotary selector to select and enter one of
[OFF], [0 dB], [3 dB], [6 dB], [9 dB], [12 dB], and [15 dB].
Changing the settings with
rekordbox
The settings required for the DJ player can be changed with rekordbox.
Change the setting items in [Controller] of [Preferences].
! The following settings can be changed only when rekordbox and this
unit are connected.

Slip mode flashing
Changes the slip mode flashing setting.
! By default, this is enabled.
— Enable: The buttons that can be operated only while slip mode is
on ([HOT CUE], [AUTO BEAT LOOP], etc.) flash.
— Disable: The buttons that can be operated only while slip mode is
on do not flash.
[SLIP] button lighting setting for when slip mode
is on
Sets the lighting operation of the [SLIP] button for when slip mode is on.
By default, this is set to On.
— On: The [SLIP] button is lit when slip mode is on and flashing
during the slip mode operation.
— Flashing: The [SLIP] button is always flashing when slip mode is
on.
Setting items of [Mixer] tab in [Controller]
Fader Start setting
Changes the fader start function setting.
! By default, this is enabled.
When the [Activate the fader start when moving a channel fader
or the cross fader while pressing the SHIFT button.] check box is
selected, the function is enabled.
About the setting utility software
The setting utility can be used to make the checks and settings
described below.
! Setting the Mixer Mode
! Checking the status of this unit’s input selector switches
! Setting the audio data output from this unit to the computer
! Adjusting the buffer size (when ASIO is used)
! Checking the version of the driver software
Displaying the setting utility
For Windows
Click [All Programs] > [Pioneer] > [DDJ-RZX] > [Settings Utility]
from the [Start] menu.
For Mac OS X
Click [Macintosh HD] icon > [Application] > [Pioneer] > [DDJ-RZX
Settings Utility].
Setting the Mixer Mode
Display the setting utility before starting.
1 Click the [Mixer Mode] tab.
2 Click the pull-down menu.
Select Mixer Mode according to the operating environment.
Internal Mixer Mode
— Select this when using the DJ application internal mixer.
External Mixer Mode
— Select this when inputting the audio output of each deck of the
DJ application to each channel of DDJ-RZX.
!
rekordbox dj operates as Internal Mixer Mode regardless of the Mixer
Mode setting.
! When using rekordbox dj, set this to Internal Mixer Mode.
