Performance Considerations
When settings up your system, it is impo rtant to con sider how various setting s and situations will affect performance. Some facto rs
affect the amount of bandwidth (the bit rate) required , others can affect the frame rate, and some affect both. If the load on the
CPU reaches its m ax im um , this will also affect the frame rate.
The following factors are among the most important to c onsider:
• High image resolution and/or low er compression levels resu lt in images containing more data. Bandwidth affecte d.
• Access by large numbers o f Motion JPEG and/or unicast H.264 clients. Bandwidth affected.
• Simultaneous viewing of different streams (resolution, compression) by different clients. Effect on frame rate and bandwidth.
• Accessing Motion JPEG and H.264 video stream s s imu ltane ously. Frame rate an d ba ndwidth affected.
• Heavy usage of event settings affect the product’s CPU l oad. Frame rate affected.
• Heavy netw ork utilization due to poor i nfra structure . Bandwidth affected.
