Security
Users
User access control is e nabled by default and can be congured under System Options > Security > Users. An administrator can
set up other users by giving them user names and passwords. It is a lso possible to allow anonymous viewer login, which means
that anybody may access the Live View page.
The use r list displays authorized u s ers and user groups (acces s levels):
Viewer - Access to the Live View page
Operator - Access to the Live View page and to all settings except System Options
Administrator - Unrestricted access to all settings; can add, modify and remove other users.
Under HTTP/RTSPPasswordSettings, select the type of password to allow. You m ay need to allow unencrypted passwords if there
are view ing clients that do not support encryption, or if you upgraded the rmware and existing clients support encryption but need
to log in again and be conguredtousethisfunctionality.
Under User Settings, select the Enable anonymous viewer login option to allow anonymous users access to the Live View page.
Select the Enable anonymous PTZ control login to allow anonymous users access to the PTZ controls.
Deselect the Enable Basic Setup option to hide the Basic Setup menu. Basic Setup provides quick access to setting s that should be
made before using the Axis prod uct.
ONVIF
ONVIF (Op en Network Video Interface Forum) is a global interfa ce standard tha t makes it easier for en d us er s, inte g ra tors , cons u lta n ts ,
and manufacturers to take advantage of the possibilities offered by network v ide o te chnology. ONVIF enables interoperabli ty between
different vendor products, increased exibility, red
uced cost and future-proof systems.
By creating a user you automa ticall
y enable ONVIF communication. Use the user nam e and password with all ONVIF communication

IP Address Filter
IP address ltering i s enabled on the System Options > Security > IP Address F ilter page. Once enabled, the listed IP address are
allowed or denied acces
s to the Axis product. Select Allow or Deny from the list and click Apply to enable IP addre ss ltering.
The administr
ator can add up to 256 IP address entries to the list (a single entry can contain multiple IP address es).
HTTPS
The Axis product supports encrypted brow s ing using HTTPS. This is congured on the System Options > Security > H TTPS page.
A self-s ig n ed ce rticate can be used until a Certicate Authority-issued certicate has been obtained. Click Create self-signed
certicate to install a self-signed ce rticate. Although self-signed certicates are free and offer some protection, true security is only
implemented after the installation of a signed certicate iss u ed by a Certicate Authority.
To obtain a signed ce rticate from an issuing Certicate Authority, click Create Certicate Request. When the signed certicate
is returned, click Install signed certicate to import the certicate. The properties of any certicate request currently resident in
the pro duct or installed can be viewed by clicking Properties.
To enable HTTPS in the Axis product, the HTTPS Connection Policy must be set for each user group.
