9. TROUBLESHOOTING
1. S8 DSP operating problems
If, when calibrating the system with S8 DSP connected to a PC/MAC there are operating problems, try
disconnecting the PC/MAC power supply cable. With the PC/MAC working on battery power you avoid a possible
voltage difference in the USB ground between the processor and the ground (PC).
2. Connection lost between S8 DSP and PC/MAC
If, while calibrating the system with the PC/MAC connected to S8 DSP, the processor is turned off and back on again,
the connection is lost and the software cannot finalize the adjustments that were set. To avoid losing the
settings, proceed as follows:
a- Save the setup to a file on the PC/MAC using the FILE/SAVE function.
b- Exit the software.
c- Turn S8 DSP on.
d- Launch the software again.
e- Load the setup file again that was saved using the FILE/LOAD function
3. S8 DSP does not respond
If, while calibrating the system with the PC/MAC connected to S8 DSP, the processor does not respond to the
commands, proceed as follows:
a- turn S8 DSP off:
- by disconnecting the Remote IN, or
- by briefly disconnecting the power supply cable;
b- Save the setup to a file on the PC using the FILE/SAVE function;
c- Exit the software;
d- Turn the S8 DSP on;
e- Launch the software again;
f- Load the setup file again that was saved using the FILE/LOAD function
4. Settings not stored
In order to successfully complete the S8 DSP setup and not lose the settings performed, remember to store the
selected settings. Select File from the main software menu via the PC and then choose Finalize to S8 DSP
.
Loud whistle / background hiss.
In case a loud whistle / background hiss can be heard, it may be necessary to repeat the input sensitivity setup and / or
to rectify the output levels adjustment. For more information,
(see sections. 7.5.6 - 8.8)
