358 Starting and driving
* The vehicle may not maintain the set speed
when going up or down steep hills. If this
happens, manually maintain vehicle speed.
To cancel the preset vehicle speed, use any of the
following methods:
* Push the <CANCEL> switch. The vehicle set
speed indicator and the cruise indicator will
turn grey.
* Tap the brake pedal. The vehicle set speed
indicator and the cruise indicator will turn
grey.
* Turn the ProPILOT Assist switch off. Both the
cruise indicator and vehicle set speed indica-
tor will turn off.
To reset at a faster cruising speed, use one of the
following three methods:
* Depress the accelerator pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, push down
and release the <SET-> switch.
* Push up and hold the <RES+> switch. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, release the
switch.
* Push up, then quickly release the <RES+>
switch. Each time you do this, the vehicle set
speed will increase by about 1 km/h (1 MPH).
To reset at a slower cruising speed, use one of the
following three methods:
* Lightly tap the brake pedal. When the vehicle
attains the desired speed, push down the
<SET-> switch and release it.
* Push down and hold the <SET-> switch.
Release the switch when the vehicle slows
down to the desired speed.
* Push down, then quickly release the <SET->
switch. Each time you do this, the vehicle set
speed will decrease by about 1 km/h (1 MPH).
To resume the preset vehicle speed, push up and
release the <RES+> switch. The vehicle will resume
the last set cruising speed when the vehicle speed
is over 30 km/h (20 MPH).

A chime sounds under the following conditions
and the control is automatically cancelled.
* When the shift lever is not in the D (Drive)
position
* When the parking brake is applied
* When the VDC/ESP system (including the
traction control system) operates
* When the VDC/ESP system is turned off
* When a wheel slips

When the system is not operating properly, the
chime sounds and the colour of the cruise
indicator will change to yellow.
Action to take:
If the colour of the cruise indicator changes to
yellow (cruise control warning), park the vehicle in
a safe place. Turn the engine off, restart the
engine, resume driving and then perform the
setting again.
If it is not possible to set or the indicator stays
on, it may indicate that the system is malfunc-
tioning. Although the vehicle is still driveable
under normal conditions, have the vehicle
checked. It is recommended you visit a NISSAN
dealer or qualified workshop for this service.
