Getting Started — Playing the Clavinova
2. Open the key cover.
2-1. With both hands, hold the hand grip, then lift and open the
key cover.
2-2. Fold down the top of the key cover.
Lift the cover slightly, then
push and slide it to the end.
3. Turn down the [MASTER VOLUME]
slider at the right end of the front panel
to “MIN.”
4. Press the [P] (Standby/On) switch at the right end of the
front panel to turn the power on.
The display located at the left end of the front panel and the power indicator
located below the left end of the keyboard both light up.

CAUTION
• Do not place objects such
as pieces of paper or metal
on top of the key cover.
Small objects placed on
the key cover may fall
inside the unit when the
cover is opened and may
be nearly impossible to
remove. This could cause
electric shock, short
circuit, fire or other serious
damage to the instrument.
• Hold the cover with both
hands when opening or
closing it. Do not release it
until it is fully opened or
closed. Be careful to avoid
catching fingers (yours or
others, especially
children’s) between the
cover and the unit.
