7. Pump the fork damper piston rod (5) slowly
several times to bleed the air from the fork
damper (2).
8. Apply fork oil to the new O-rings (9) on the
fork cap assembly (1).
9. Extend the fork damper piston rod (5) to
maximum length, holding it, install the fork
cap assembly (1) to the fork damper (2).
Wipe off any excess oil immediately.
Be careful not to damage the fork cap piston ring.
If it is difficult to install the fork cap assembly, the
fork damper oil level might be higher than standard
oil level.
10. Temporarily install the fork cap assembly (1)
to the fork damper (2) using an adjustable
wrench (3) and a lock nut wrench (4).
• Lock nut wrench 070MA-MEN0100
11. Completely screw in the fork center bolt lock
nut (10) to the fork damper piston rod (5).
