A pause is sometimes required when making
calls using a PBX or long distance service.
When storing a calling card access number
and/or PIN in the phonebook, a pause is also
needed (page 21).
Example: If you need to dial the line access

ber “0” when making outside calls with a
PBX:

Answering calls

Auto talk: You can answer calls simply by
lifting the handset (page 26).
Temporary handset ringer off: You can turn

Using Caller ID service

Caller ID features (such as displaying caller
phone numbers), you must subscribe to a
Caller ID service. Contact your phone
service provider for details.
For New Zealand
R For all local and national incoming calls,
your display will show the area code (e.g.
09 for Auckland) or the mobile prefix (e.g.
027 for Telecom Mobile) followed by the
caller’s telephone number. An Auckland
caller’s number will be displayed as
09XXXXXXX. The seven X’s represent the
seven digits of the caller’s telephone
number. A caller from a 7-digit Telecom
Mobile number will be displayed as
