Connecting the water supply
T
he water in the dishwasher is NOT safe to drink!
Do not re-use removable hose attachments. Use the hose supplied
with thi
s dishwasher.
The dishwasher must be connected to the water supply in accord‐
ance with local
regulations.
The water used must at least comply with regulations for drinking
w
ater quality. If the water supply has a high iron content, there is a
danger of corrosion occurring on items being cleaned in the dish‐
washer, as well as the appliance itself. If the chloride content of the
water exceeds 100 mg/l the risk of corrosion to items being cleaned
in the dishwasher will be further increased.
In certain regions (e.g. mountainous regions), the water composi‐
tion may cause precipitates to form, requiring the use of softened
water for the dishwasher.
A backflow preventer is not required; the dishwasher corresponds
w
ith the valid standards for the protection of drinking water.
The water pressure (flow pressure) must amount to at least 200 kPa
overpr
essure (200 kPa = 29 psi). At a water pressure (flow pressure)
below 200 kPa, the water intake time extends automatically. The
maximum permissible static pressure amounts to 1000 kPa (over‐
pressure) (1000 kPa = 145.04 psi). If the water pressure does not lie
in the 200-1000 kPa range (29 - 145.04 psi), ask Miele Service how
to proceed.
The dishwasher is supplied as standard for connection to cold wa‐
t
er (blue-coded hose) and hot water up to 150°F / 65°C (red-coded
hose). Connect the inlet hoses to the water faucet valves for cold
and hot water.
If there is no hot water supply, the intake hose with the r
ed marking
must also be connected to the cold water supply.
Connect the intake hose for the steam condenser (without water
p
rotection device) to a cold water faucet.
A water faucet valve with a 3/4" male thread must be provided on
sit
e. It should be easily accessible so that the water supply can be
turned off when the appliance is not in use.
The intake hose is an approx. 5' 7" (1.7 m) long pressure hose DN
10 with a 3/4 inch screw connection. For the extension, a 5' 7" (1.7
m) long, flexible metal hose (test pressure 140 bar) is available. The
dirt filter in the screw connection may not be removed.
Install the coarse filter (supplied in accessory pack) between the
w
ater faucet valve and the inlet hose
(see Cleaning and care, Water inlet").
