Adjusting the image settings
Adjusting primary colors
To achieve consistency use a color m et er t o m easure t he native prim ary colors-red, green, blue,
and white, as t hey appear on t he screen. Use hue, sat uration and gain ( HSG) t o adj ust each color
com ponent t o essent ially calibrat e a project or t o it s surroundings, com pensat ing for fact ors such as
screen t y pe, lam p and/ or am bient light ing, and im proves color accuracy and consistency in a gr oup
of proj ectors. I t ensures a good start ing point for furt her custom izing and m at ching; however, is not
crit ical for all installat ions.
1. Select Menu > Image Settings > Color Matching > HSG Adjustment.
2. To view a specific color while adj ust ing, select ENTER t o enable Auto Test Pattern.
3. Select one prim ary color ( red, green, blue, cyan, m agent a, or yellow) .
4. To edit hue of t he prim ary color, adj ust t he slider or ent er t he color values of t he prim ary color
com ponent you select ed unt il sat isfied wit h t he colors.
Hue values reflect t he num ber of degrees of rot at ion ar ound t he wheel from t he original color of
the pixel. I ncreasing t he value indicat es counterclockwise rotat ion and decreasing t he value
indicat es clockwise rot at ion.
5. To confirm t he select ion, select ENTER.
6. To edit sat urat ion of t he prim ary color, adj ust t he slider or ent er t he color values of t he prim ary
color com ponent you select ed unt il sat isfied wit h t he colors.
Sat urat ion values reflect the color shift ing away from t he prim ary color or t oward white.
7. To confirm t he select ion, select ENTER.
8. To edit gain of t he prim ary, adj ust the slider or ent er t he color values of t he prim ary color
com ponent you select ed unt il sat isfied wit h t he colors.
I ncreasing value indicates increasing t he lightness, and decreasing t he value indicates
decreasing it t o black.
