Adjusting the image settings
Setting the contrast ratio
Use cont rast enhancem ent funct ion t o raise t he cont rast rat io.
1. Select Menu > Image Settings > Contrast Enhancement.
2. Select t he appropr iat e calculation m ethod for contrast rat io:
• Dynamic Black

—Adj usts t he cont rast ratio depending on t he cont ent s by m inim izing
the black levels in t he proj ect ed im age while elect ronically increasing t he gain in the
im age. The result is enhanced det ail and increased cont rast ratio of 6500: 1.
• Speed—Adj ust s t he speed of t he light source correct ion. The value ranges from 1 t o 15.
A lower value m akes t he correct ion slower and less aggressive while a higher value
results in t he faster correct ion.
• Strength—Sets t he st r engt h of t he dynam ic contrast adj ustm ent . The value ranges from
0 t o 3, t he higher t he value the st ronger t he correct ion.
• Level—Adj usts t he light source when t he bright ness level of t he current cont ent get s
lower t han t he set value. The value ranges from 50 to 100, indicat ing 50% t o 100% of
the constant bright ness. The higher t he value, t he larger t he range t o adj ust t he light
source.
• Real Black—Turns off t he laser light while proj ecting black cont ent .
• Lights Out Timer—Sets a t im er for t he laser light t o turn off aft er det ect ing black
cont ent .
• Lights Out Signal Level—Set s a black level value as t he t hreshold for the Real Black
funct ion. The value can be select ed from 0 t o 255, with 0 being t he darkest black and
255 being t he bright est .
• Lights On Threshold—Set s t he light s on value t o elim inat e t he Real Black effect. The
funct ion is activat ed when t he screen bright ness is higher t han t he value of bot h t he
Lights On Threshold and t he Light s Out Signal Level. The Light s on Threshold value
ranges from 0 to 127.
• Reset to Default—Resets all cont ract enhancem ent set t ings t o t he default fact ory
default s.
3. To confirm t he select ion, select ENTER.
Enabling the image freeze
Pause t he display screen despit e any change in t he sour ce device.
1. Select Menu > Image Settings > Image Freeze.
2. To pause t he screen, select Image Freeze.
3. To unfreeze t he screen, select any butt on on t he keypad or rem ot e cont rol.
4. Select Yes.
