General Operation
Using the Keyboard
FN +SUPER Located above the 8 on the number pad.
Places the next typed character in superscript format, displaying slightly
above the line of text.
Will place multiple characters in superscript if the characters are
highlighted first. (See “Highlight text” on page 31 for information on
highlighting characters.)
FN +SUB Located above the 0 on the number pad.
Places the next typed character in subscript format, displaying slightly
below the line of text.
Will place multiple characters in subscript if the characters are
highlighted first. (See “Highlight text” on page 31 for information on
highlighting characters.)
DATE Inserts the current date, as set on the printer.
TIME Inserts the current time, as set on the printer.
LABEL Opens a menu to add, remove, and format labels in a file. See “Labels
and Areas” on page 43
SHIFT + LABEL Adds another label. “Add Label or Area” on page 43.
FN + AREA
(FN + SHIFT +
LABEL)
Adds a new area to a label. This can only be performed on continuous
labels. See “Add Label or Area” on page 43.
LABEL TYPE Opens a menu to select the type of label that you want to create. This sets
up the label with the proper layout for the application (for example, wire
marking, safety signs, or breaker boxes). See Chapter 5: “Label Types”
on page 62.
FN + FILE Opens the file menu to save, open, delete, import, or export a file. See
Chapter 6: “File Management” on page 79.
International Accesses characters specific to some international alphabets with
diacritical and accent marks incorporated into the characters. See
“International Characters” on page 51.
FN + SETUP Opens the menu to configure printer settings. See “Printer Settings” on
page 8.
FONT Provides font sizes and attributes such as bold and italic. See “Typeface”
on page 40.
