When operating on a side slope, the backhoe
must be positioned using the method shown in
Figure
22.

Cut a level spot
for
the uphill side
of
the
machine and place the spoil from the levei spot
on the downhill side.
3.
Be careful when swinging loaded bucket on a
hillside. When operating on a side slope,
always place the trench spoil on the “UPHILL”
side of backhoe to minimize the possibility of
upsetting the tractor.
